day with Su Lu

This morning I took the taxi to see Su Lu at 10:00 at Southwest Forestry College. For all the ways I use taxi. Today the prize differs from 8 till 30 Yuan for longer distances within Kunming. I just get the address written down in Chinese characters and show it to the taxi driver. So far it worked.
Su Lu showed me around in her College (it looks like an American College with dormitories, sport fields and a lot of green) on a hill above Kunming. We took the taxi to Golden Temple again. This time we took time to see the whole area. Today kids from kindergarden and several school classes were introduced to the Temple.
Well here is to see the biggest temple in China made of copper. Besides they display masterpieces from the bronce time.
Sue Lu just demonstrates how to use this sculpture as a pillow.
It is wonderful to have a personal guide. Su Lu explained all the details and besides we had a lot of fun. After lunch with spicy chicken we visited a second temple downtown just in the middle of Kunming. Entering Yuantong Zen Buddhist Temple, you do not hear the noise around anymore.
The monks just started their ceremony when we walked by.
The Golden Temple we visited before was not only for Buddists but also for Confucionism.
After visiting the flower and bird market we needed a rest and stopped in a western style restaurant . With cappucino (just the way I like it) and ice cream we relaxed and talked.
The flower and bird market is better called jewelry and cloth market, we did not see a single bird. With time the markets change I think.
The two gates with golden horse and golden hencock Su Lu showed me very proudly. These view old pieces almost disapear within the trafic and the modern city, but they are restored with care.
For the end of the tour Su Lu got a ticket for me for the show Dynamic Yunnan. It is a fantastic show about the dances of the minorities of Yunnan.
Süli is walking up and down in front of me, since the restaurant around the corner closes in 10 minutes and we both are hungry.
